To stay one step ahead of the market, Fraikin has decided to digitize the management of its vehicles with rugged Fieldbook tablets, managed by the MediaContact administration software for mobile devices.
Simplified agency processes
Before using digital tablets in Fraikin agencies, the current status of rental vehicles was manually recorded and re-entered later on into the company’s IT system. The purpose of the project was therefore to study the various possibilities to simplify these processes. The Logic Instrument / Telelogos solution is now used to record the conditional data of all vehicles from their arrival in the fleet until their rejection, every time they pass a Fraikin agency. The tablets are equipped with Fraikin’s internally developed business application, and they communicate wirelessly through the agency’s WiFi network.
The reasons for choosing Fieldbook tablets
Fraikin selected Logic Instrument’s Android-powered Fieldbook tablets, which are adapted to enterprise needs, because of their ruggedness and their reliability. "This new tool is anchored in the habits of our employees. It is now part of their daily lives, and they could not do without," notes Ms. Paula Nevot, Operational Auditor at Fraikin. The customer feedback is very positive. They can enter the vehicle condition including pictures every time they come to an agency.
The reasons for choosing MediaContact
To manage these tablets, Fraikin has decided to use the MDM and MAM software MediaContact, specialized in the administration of mobile devices for business applications. "Even if our IT support can’t be present in person, we are able to intervene remotely on the equipment in case of problems. Otherwise, the slightest malfunction would require the tablets to be sent back for troubleshooting to an agency with stock. Moreover, without MediaContact, we could not manage the huge deployment of each application update," reflects Ms. Paula Nevot.
Improving efficiency and enhancing the company's image
According to Madame Nevot, "The benefits of this solution are varied, but the main one remains our image, which is now more modern vis-à-vis our customers. We also have become more efficient, since everything we do around the vehicles does not need to be reentered into the information system. All information put into the tablets is transmitted automatically to our system as soon as the tablets are connected to WiFi.
Finally, we have become more transparent with our clients who accompany us when we use the tablet to check the vehicle conditions. Thus we establish a collaborative report of the state of our vehicles with the support of photos that are automatically sent to our customers by email."
